Presbyterian Women

The Presbyterian Women's Organization is a caring group of women, dedicated to the mission of the Church, both locally and worldwide. We strive to expand our faith through prayer and Bible study.

Each year we donate to the "Birthday Offering" and the "Thank Offering". These are mission projects that assist a variety of world-wide organizations to meet human needs that include educational and vocational training, teaching clean water techniques, support of orphanages, safe houses, and healthcare measures. We also give money, sheets and baby blankets to "The Medicine Kit", an organization that supplies a hospital in Africa.

One of our local mission projects is to collect baby items (gowns, sleepers, diapers, blankets, and baby formula) to give to the "Lighthouse Host Home", a home for homeless young pregnant women. We also give financial support to the Food Pantry, Hope Ministries, Children and Families of Iowa, Salvation Army and Amanda the Panda. Our Christmas project for the past few years has been collecting items for CROSS Ministries that cannot be purchased with food stamps. The entire congregation takes part in this effort. We also collect Bingo prizes for use by the residents at Calvin Community, send a mission pledge to Church Women United and donate to their Christmas children's fund to supply warm clothing to needy children.
